We use modern technology to make visits safer and better.
We have a relaxed friendly atmosphere at our surgeries. The practices are centrally located in each village with free car parking.
Children are always welcome and of course under 18's ( under 19 if in full time education ) are treated under the NHS scheme. Limited adult NHS appointments are available with our current VDP dentist so please contact us.
Our examinations include evaluating gum health, examining soft tissue of your mouth to screen for diseases e.g. cancers; checking your teeth for decay. From this a programme of appointments to aid preventing further disease is made.

This often includes appointments with our hygienists who monitor progress and tailor time intervals to your needs, sometimes using phase microscopes to show bacteria to decide if pathogens are present and need eradicating.
Regular check ups are essential to detect early signs of problems and advise on remedial action. This is especially important as you get older.

Crowns are restorations which wrap around the tooth to give strength.
They give back a natural shape and function to a tooth which has been weakened by decay, large fillings or fractures.
They are constructed from various materials by skilled technicians from a cast made at the surgery.
GOLD for ultimate strength and durability usually on back teeth.
PORCELAIN bonded to precious metal allows good strength and good appearance; however a black line along the gum can reveal the metal edge.
All CERAMIC crowns can be difficult to tell from natural teeth they may look so good. The core of the crown is made from a block of ceramic (to replace the metal component as in Porcelain above) that is laser scanned and milled to achieve a close fit and then finely fired porcelain added to achieve ultimate aesthetics.

We offer a full range of Denture Services.
Dentures are removable substitutes for missing teeth. They are usually made from an acrylic base, which is fitted with acrylic artificial teeth. Having missing teeth can make you feel self-conscious about your smile and make eating and speaking difficult. It also has a negative impact on your oral health, so it is vital that they be replaced.
Valplast offer a flexible alternative. These are not just acrylic dentures made with a flexible material - they are a totally different concept, made with a different material which require a different mind set with regard to denture design, material qualities, thickness of material and processing.

Removable Partial Dentures with cast metal frameworks are probably one of the oldest forms of dentistry. The metal framework does not contact the gums. Modern frameworks are cast from an extremely strong alloy called chrome cobalt which can be cast very thin and are much less likely to break than the all plastic variety. They are also much less noticeable to the tongue.

Metal Based Fillings
Fillings can be of silver amalgam this has been used for many years by dentists worldwide because it is known to last on average longer than white plastic fillings. They are therefore often recommended to avoid repeat dentistry in the future.

White Fillings
White fillings obviously look so much better; however they are not as long lasting as metal based fillings and usually cost more.
Implants are titanium cores inserted into the bone to support pegs to hold crowns, bridges or stabilise dentures
An Implant Bridge can give you back your confidence and quality of life.
Bleaching can make a noticeable difference to your smile leaving you looking younger and more confident.
All types of bleaching works using - bright lights, lasers concentrated chemicals. However after careful research we advise at home bleaching with lower concentrations than in house systems. We believe although it is slower it is kinder to your teeth. You will have more control and therefore it is unlikely to cause sensitivity which may occur with other systems.
Bleaching is becoming very popular and unlike veneers your teeth are not touched by the dentist. Two or three shades whiter are usually achievable
Veneers can be used to enhance your smile. About 0.5 mm of the surface of the tooth is removed and impressions taken to allow a skilled technician to construct a laminate. This is “glued” to the outside of your tooth to change the colour, alter the shape, close a gap or hide unsightly fillings. We starting using them in the mid 1980’s and over 90% are still present.
The appearance of veneers can dramatically change your smile. I have had one patient whose confidence was boosted enough to ask for a pay rise and ask his girlfriend to be his wife. He achieved both. Congratulations! We all like happy endings!
